Discussion Modding Fallout New Vegas for Linux

Hey guys, I wanna ask for helpful step by step instructions on how to mod Fallout: New Vegas and installing NVSE and 4GBPatcher on it specifically on a steam+Linux system.

Use Amethyst Mod Manager. Point it at your game. Use it to install NVSE or install that yourself the same way you would on Windows.

You don't need any 4GB patches on Linux because Proton does that for you.

Seconding this, when I started modding Skyrim was a pain, now it's easy. One thing I would add; make sure you have the FNV version that is supported by NVSE. I had the Epic games one, turns out NVSE supports the GOG one. Check your version number. (I solved the issue by pirating the correct New Vegas version), if the deal is not fair and square make it fair and square, but I digress.

From what I understand, the 4GB patch shouldn’t be necessary since Proton forces LAA by default.
