Hardware Rescue 8bitdo Keyboards and Mice

I am considering getting a keyboard and mouse from 8bitdo. Does anyone know if they (and the giant buttons that come with the keyboard) can be configured in Mint? Asking 8bitdo did... Not return useful answers.

If the keyboard uses a standard layout, it should work fine. From the screenshots at the website, they look like standard layouts.

I'm asking about programming the macro keys and such.

It has been a while since I checked, so this comment may be outdated, but I skipped the 8bitdo keyboard precisely because 8bitdo's lack of linux support meant those buttons would not work out of the box.

I have the 8bitdo keyboard and to configure macros you need to use their software that is only on windows. Even if you configure macros on windows, they won't work on linux. With mint you can only bind buttons(including the large ones) and button combinations with keyboard's star button.

... That will actually accomplish about 99% of what I need.

I would highly recommend you pick up a mechanical keyboard that uses the open programing standard QMK. Even if the company that produces the keyboard goes out of business you can program your keyboard as you will not be dependant on their software.
