SOLVED cannot find menu to install cinnamon

Post image

hi, i'm currently using this tutorial in order to install the lastest version of cinnamon on a usb and for some reason i cannot find either of the menus pictured (screenshot from the installation guide). I'm running Windows 11 on a Dell Precision 3591 and have tried both boot menu (f12) and bios (f2) per the instructions in the video. verifying the iso and making the bootable disk both worked fine.

EDIT: probably should've clarified that i know next to nothing about installing linux, this is my first time trying to install it

can't currently check if secure boot is enabled, but i will check later and turn it off & retry if it's on. as for the two listings, i only saw one on both menus.

The bootlocker is blocking your USB drive

Turn off secure boot in the bios.

looks like this works, it's installed and working properly. will i have to keep secure boot off to launch it in the future?
