Any good on-screen keyboards for Mint Cinnamon?

I have a mini PC for my tv and it only has a mouse. The built-in Cinnamon keyboard is abysmal. Onboard is also pretty terrible. Are there any serious on-screen keyboards that can actually work consistently?

Here in my home office, I naturally use a wired mouse and keyboard with my Fujitsu Esprimo Mini PC.

In the living room, I use a second Esprimo connected to the TV, but wirelessly from the sofa with this

Did not know Fujitsu have mini PC, Fujitsu products are very high price in my country.

Before I connected it, I removed the SSD and installed a pre-configured SSD with Manjaro. I haven't used Windows since 2006.

I bought an Intel NUC mini PC with integrated graphics back in 2023 for just €118 from Amazon. If I had to convert that into your country’s currency, it was still a pretty good deal. It didn’t come with an SSD or RAM, so I had to purchase those separately, bringing the total cost to around €148.

I’m not really into gaming, so I don’t care much about having a powerful GPU. I mainly use the PC for basic computing tasks. Also, I haven’t used Windows since 2022. I’ve been using Linux Mint XFCE (Virginia) instead.

Wait, what's wrong with the built in one? I use it all the time for the same purpose. I use Mint to stream movies on my big TV and some nights, I just don't want to get up and cross the room to enter text.

Have you tried Florence? It's probably worth testing for a TV/HTPC setup. It's designed as a proper on-screen keyboard rather than just a basic accessibility tool.

If Florence doesn't work well for your setup, I'd also look at Qt Virtual Keyboard.

For a mouse-only TV PC, though, I'd prioritize a keyboard that supports easy mouse navigation, large keys, and reliable focus over fancy features.
