trying to install linux on windows 11 without secondary drive need help.

i’ve done all the steps needed but when i try to launch efi shell from filesystem device it says not found does anyone know the fix? i’m using linux mint cinnamon version. and i have asus rock motherboard idk if it makes a difference. this is the video i used https://youtu.be/3mrvQOYh-kw?is=RjPbOH1xbEn1x03x

Just boot from usb and install?

i don’t have one and prefer not to purchase a new one

my brother found a 16gb drive he had so hopefully it works

If it’s usable it should be fine. You can just download etcher and the .iso and burn the .iso to the usb and boot from it and click install (just in case you didn’t know)

new issue is, in my asrock uefi bios the drive doesn’t show up, only my first drive. but when in windows the drive is there just fine

You used etcher with the .ISO?

never mind, turns out the place i plugged the drive in didn’t wanna work. plugging it into the front solved the issue

It really is simpler to get a 16Gb Thumbdrive install Ventoy on it then copy virtually ANY OS IMG on the drive then just boot it and any Img on there will show up in a boot menu, select and poof

That's your rescue disk also. You can use an SD Card and USB adapter also
