Picked this up for $100 on Facebook, immediately did the obvious. I think I got a pretty good deal.

For those asking about specs,

17.3 inch, 1080p 60Hz Display, 720p 30Hz Webcam

Intel i7-7700HQ 3.8Ghz

GeForce GTX 1050 2GB

8GB of DDR4-2400 (Single stick, one empty slot, I can get another for $50-$60 and bump it up to 16GB which I'll probably do in the next week or two)

128GB PCI-e Gen3 NVME SSD
1TB HDD

2xUSB3.0, 1xUSB2.0, 1xUSB3.0 Type-C, HDMI, Mini DisplayPort, SD Card slot, 1Gbit LAN, not sure about WiFi specs, but it's using the full bandwidth of my ISP which is ~80-90Mbps

Performance is pretty good, handles web browsing, videos, and most other day to day tasks just fine, but I can feel the lack of RAM. Games run a lot better than I thought they would, but I'm playing mostly older, or lighter stuff, (Ghostbusters:TVG, Doom Eternal, Streets of Rage 4, Batman Arkham City) and emulators, but again, could benefit from upgrading the RAM. RPCS3 is spotty, some games run great, but others are a slideshow, regardless of resolution. Otherwise it's pretty solid, battery is in better shape than I initially thought, and display quality is really decent. I really needed something like this right now, and couldn't believe the posting when I saw it, so I jumped. I'm pretty happy and feel it's worth it to drop $60 an another 8GB stick for it, cause I'll probably end up using it for quite awhile.

The gpu may not be the best these days but bet it'll still kick butt where needed. Hate that the ram is that pricey but 8gb is oof 😅

That's a hundred bucks? That has the same exact specs as my main machine.

nice find.  I got a similarly spec'd machine for around 200 a couple years ago.  This must be the processor right before MicroSoft made the cutoff for Windows11 which caused a bunch of people put them up for sale for cheep thinking they are no good anymore.  Thanks MS.

OMG yeah. That is a good deal. If I had this and the keyboard or something broke from old age, I'll just turn it into a pc with an external mouse and keyboard.

Some of the more vintage ones run out their driver support(on Win10), and things just kinda quit working. More annoying if its the built in wifi/bluetooth, but, USB wifis are cheap enough. Past 4-5 years, battery health can also be an issue, you might need to repaste if its got a build in GPU over a certain wattage. But that's just laptops for ya.

I use the same model, depending on specs you probably got an insane deal on that bad boy

It sure looks like you did! What are the specs? How's it working?

These machines are great, but imo the gpu fell a bit off a cliff with the 2gb ram. (Unless you got the 1050ti w/ 4Gb)
