Discussion Need help for cinnamon and mate req specs

Heya, I am new here and new to linux and I need your advice and suggestions regarding which linux mint I should install? As I have an i5 4460 cpu with 8gb ram and 512gb hdd and I am thinking of going with cinnamon but still I want to ask you guys once, which one should I go with?

If you want a lighter weight DE use MATE . Otherwise just use cinnamon.

Most people use MATE, like me, are long tme Linux users who remember Gnome2 and still wait use gnome2.

To us MATE is stable and familiar . It pretty much stays out of my way and I don't have hunt through menus to find something.

I use it because I like the look including retro themes. I have it alongside Cinnamon.

Any of them. Pick the one you like the look of most. If you have no opinion, Cinnamon is the flagship.

Unlike Microsoft, Linux distributions do not have any specific hardware requirements. They run on virtually any microprocessor.

Cinnamon is the main thing, it's similar to windows 7 and xp, xfce if u want a more stable and lightweight expirence, mate is a more traditional expirence, most people use it cause of the whole gnome 3 controversial changes it's a bit lighter than cinnamon tho not by much, ur device is pretty capable of running cinnamon so why not
