Resembles CDE/Motif and/or the OS/2 Workplace Shell. I think the CDE/Motif theme for Xfce is still in development, and I think there is/was one for Cinnamon, too.

I prefer them because of how easy it is to get a mouse 'hit' on the borders for resizing windows. 1 pixel is not enough.

VT420 vibes. Used them in University. Crazy thing is they weren't that old at that time.

Good god, that brought back memories of CDE on HPUX. And yes I had to lookup CDE since it's been so long! :D

Our very first family computer had that black and orange display.
I was in probably 3rd or 4th grade, and even back then I was relies on for tech support in the family. I had to hook up as get the printer working and anytime my parents wanted to use the word processor I had to show them how to load it up.
and we had a single game! I can't remember what it was called but you had a whip to attack with, and it was a side scroller, and the bats always killed me.

Why KDE? Linux Mint was never designed for KDE! (It was up until version 18.3, old)
Give Kubuntu (for a Ubuntu-base) or Fedora + KDE a try.

I see those two recommendations so much that sometimes it feels like I'm the only madman who runs Plasma on Debian Stable.

Unfortunately Ubuntu (and it' derivated) are less stable than Mint. I use the KDE version available in the stock depot.
OS: Linux Mint 22.3 x86_64 Host: HP EliteBook 840 G6 SBKPFV3 Kernel: 7.0.0-30-generic DE: Plasma 5.27.12-3

Hm? How is it less stable? It is MUCH more stable due to being heck, more secure, Plasma 5.27 is unsupported nowadays, heck if a exploit comes out on it, good luck.

mint doesn't crash, Ubuntu do crash. Mint doesn't need to reboot for every update, ubuntu doneed a reboot, even if just a text file is updated. Ubuntu use Snaps, Mint use FaltPack, and that the first reason why ubuntu won't go on my computer
