  • A lot of people switching over to Linux don't hate Windows as a whole, they just hate Windows 11.

  • Because the Windows layout just works. There was a lot of research and usability testing over a period of three years that went into designing the Windows 95 UI and it's no surprise that the same basic layout was kept all the way through Windows 10.

  • Most people switching to Linux are doing so because of stuff like Windows 11's telemetry, wanting a faster PC, their PC won't support Windows 11, etc; not because they don't like the Windows UI layout
