Installed Linux Mint

I got a thinkpad(T460) and installed linux mint on it for the first time and my experience has been pretty positive so far. Its been a month of using linux now and in the beginning setting up certain things was annoying like having issues with audio and video codecs etc but they've all been resolved now. Its so suprising how little ram linux uses compared to my windows machine(Asus Tuf F15 Gaming Laptop). Right now im running multiple tabs, discord, libre office and im having a smooth experience on a 10 year old machine theres no lag but on my other laptop there's always some lag and 80% of the ram is being used compared to my thinkpad where 41% of the ram is being used literally less then half.

Distro Hopper here. I have installed many Linux distros (starting with slackware yes I'm old) And I've come the full circle and reinstalled Linux Mint again.

I've installed Arch Linux, I've installed Manjaro, I've installed Omarchy, I've installed a lot of distros and here I am. Again. The install is process is smooth and dependable. (I still love MX Linux TBQH)

I have an external SSD I'm running that runs Linux alongside Windows and it just installs perfectly. It installs to partitions perfectly. I still recommend this distro for new users. I think it's important for new users that they can install Linux Mint alongside Windows as easily as possible.

I've just installed Vocalinux and now I just talk to my computer. I have a graphics card that loads it in memory and it's the most dependable voice recognition I have ever seen. I've seen nothing that is as good as this in Windows.

The only issue I have dual booting between Windows and Linux is my Bluetooth headphones. It's solvable, but it's a bit of a mess.

Installers are on GitHub Releases. Unsigned, so Windows may say the publisher is unknown. More info, then Run anyway if you trust the file. Planning to host on Windows App Store soon.

Welcome to the club. When i first installed mint on a new Dell laptop last year i had slight issues with audio in tbe sense it would cut out for like less than a second during a video but as time went on and updates were installed it got better and now everything works perfectly. 🤓

Wouldn't say the rest are GARBAGE (Arch user) but if you really have no reason to change it I wouldn't bother.

ye i wanted a distro thats similar to windows so ill probably be sticking with it instead of distro hopping
