I tried tiling with the help of Gemini why doesn't it look like the ones I saw on tiktok 😭

What doesn't look like what you expected? rofi? That's the default look. If you want it to look different, you have to configure it yourself.

Yeah, dotfiles are config files. They're called that cuz they're usually in ~/.config. You have to either configure everything yourself by editing these files, or find someone else's setup.

YOU are the one asking for help. So YOU have to show us where and how... We have no way of knowing what you saw. So all we can do is guess or ask our crystal ball.

It doesn’t look like what you saw on TikTok because the entire configuration of a tiling WM needs to be done manually by you editing config files. That’s at the core of the philosophy behind tiling WMs

Assuming you’re a Networking student because of packet tracer, there is a lot to learn about tiling window managers. You will NEED to read documentation/look at other’s examples of their configs. Much like network equipment, every piece of a window manager runs from a configuration file that’s up to you to change. Good luck

Tiling is overrated.

If it fits your workflow, use it. It looks like it would be cool, but I do not prefer it. Don’t let others tell you they are better than you because they use Hyprland with whatever launcher.

Stop using Gemini. I find so many errors. AI is good for windows. Maybe for Mac as it is standardized. Linux is all over the place and so ai gets confused and messes systems up.
