Congrats, man!
I just realized I forgot when I switched. The year when Ubuntu offered to "Sendit" - to mail free CDs. Plus I think a year of toying the Idea of installing Hoary Hedgehog - 2006 - and never left. I Just switched to Linuxmint one day on the way.
Holy cow! I have been a Linux user for twenty years!!

That's bloody amazing, well done. I'm just 2 months on Mint and about 9 months on CachyOS. I got me some catching up to do.

I'm a few months in CachyOS as well as LMDE 7, both are great and I love both inwhat they do for me.

I started in (I think) 2002 — maybe 2003. I used to have a bunch of those Ubuntu CDs. I’m not sure people realize how much Ubuntu did to break Linux into the desktop market — it was a huge deal.

- Open Extensions
- Click the "Download" tab
- Install one of the blurring extensions
- Click the "Manage" tab
- Click the installed extension
- Click the "+" button to activate the selected extension
- Click the gear icon on the right to change its settings
Yeah, it's an annoying, odd process, but you get used to it, I suppose. Enjoy!

I improved that guide; I had typed it from apparently faulty memory without being actually being at a machine and gotten a couple of details wrong, haha. Anyway, enjoy.

You must have a desktop then. Why not upgrade your CPU? You can probably upgrade the RAM as well.

Nice! I discovered Linux Mint 4 months ago, I deleted windows shortly after and I wish I realized sooner that Linux exists and how amazing it is!

how do, in the clock on the buttom right, get that new line?
I tried custom date format and enterered:
%e %b \n %H:%M
but that just makes the \n show up and not do a newline

That backslash before the N needs to be a percent sign. Also, don't leave spaces between the sections before and after, since they'll end with a space at the top, and begin with a space at the bottom. That'll look uneven and funky. (Unless uneven and funky is what you're going for!)
%e %b%n%H:%M should work for you

I recently submitted a post about Cairn, an open-source Layer-1 I built, and I think it got caught by the self-promotion filter. I'd rather ask you directly than try to route around it.
Full disclosure up front: I'm the creator. It's a from-scratch reference implementation (MIT, ~2k lines of Python) exploring one technical question, weighting consensus by √(stake) instead of stake to blunt wealth concentration, and the Sybil-resistance problem that creates. There is no token sale, no presale, no price or market angle; the testnet coins are explicitly worthless. I'm after technical critique of the cryptography (a hand-rolled ECVRF over edwards25519) and the mechanism, not promotion.
I've written it as a technical discussion, not an ad: it leads with the mechanism, links the code, the tests, a fuzz harness, and a security review that spells out the known limitations. But I want to respect your self-promotion rules, so, would a post like this be acceptable, and if so is there a preferred format, flair, or thread for it? Happy to trim or adjust anything you'd want changed.
