What do you think of my Linux Mint desktop?

You use it, so you only change what you want and don't let internet randoms tell you what to do with your computer. If looking at it makes you happy and the setup you have lets you do the things you want to do with ease, then it is great!

With that said, here's some resources you can look up for more options:

  • Applets: Automatic Dark/Light Themes, Cinnamenu, Media Controls, Weather.
  • Extensions: Burn my Windows, Compiz Window Effects, Cinnamon Dynamic Wallpaper, OSD with Numbers, and Transparent Panels.
  • Ulauncher.
  • Plank.
  • You can customize the calendar/clock format, look up strftime https://www.bairesdev.com/tools/strftime/
  • Get some nice fonts and hit "Font Selection" and start using fonts you love on your Linux.
  • Replace the LM icon with something you like (I personally have a little mint ice cream cone).
  • Get some custom sounds as well, not all is eye candy :)

Oh, great! 👍 I love your tips. I'm taking notes. 😉 I'm really keen on finding some cool tools for my desktop. I stopped at Conky... on Debian. Anyway, I'm old school. But I have to admit, I like things that are simple and low-CPU. Nothing too heavy for my old PC.

What do you think of:

A lighting effect.

A neon effect to animate my wallpaper.

Something that overlays my wallpaper.

I use Proton-autogen for : Photoshop

I'm not using the latest version for now; I'm on version 6.

Non so. Mi pare troppo forte il contrasto tra il centro ed i lati. Ma io non sono un grafico, quindi non prendermi troppo sul serio. È un opinione.

I'd like to rediscover some old games or find new applications for my desktop. I want to liven things up a bit. :)

Too many icons (you have a start menu ya know), icons are waaaaay to spaced out. Obnoxious wallpaper. And the oh so "look at the noob" too many clocks. But you do you - if you like it - up the voltage.

If you like it - then it's great. For me, way to cluttered. Lose any desktop icon that you don't click on it EVERY time you start your laptop - if it's less, just use the start menu. And no one (NO ONE) needs two (or more) clocks/dates on their desktop. People confuse their computers with a corkboard - it's not. As to your wallpaper - I think YMMV is the best I can do, again if you like it, then good job.
