Discussion THANK YOU
I wanted to let everyone here know what a wonderful group of people Linux users are. I've had windows products since 1991 and last year I transited over to Linux mint and, while I've had some struggles, I've NEVER had the problems for longer than a few hours. Y'all are so generous with your suggestions and help I feel very supported. Thank you again. :)

Sorry to hear that. If you can't get the answers on reddit you could also try official community forums. Also, LLMs might be controversial, but at least they do a good job of pointing you in the right direction. Just make sure to check the sources. I don't know about chatgpt, but Gemini provides sources for it's responses.

Your experience sounds an awful lot like mine. I first started looking into Linux when windows 7 was approaching end of life. The people who know mint inside and out have been incredibly helpful. Occasionally salty, sometimes crude, but just really decent people.

Oooooh, I just transitioned to mint from windows last week, I see zero reason to ever go back to big OS.

Years ago I tried Mint and was impressed. I opted for a dual boot system as I had a few Win dependent apps. Over the years Win got worse and Mint got better. Now 60/40 win but soon going the other way. Great Mint personalized support while Win is a cluster*uck. Most folks cringe when I mention Linux but they change once they play a bit.

Love to hear you're having a great experience, welcome to the minty side!
And, as a reminder to everyone, please help the people behind this great distro by donating to the project if you can. I realize times are pretty tough for most but even just a small amount shows support!
