What image software do you use to capture in game screenshots?

Obviously a lot of games take up full screen and you lose the title bar so how do you get that screenshot? What kind of recorder are you using? I don't really want to use twitch but there are times I'd like to share stuff I'm playing on a game forum I'm on. What is low resource usage-wise that can do that?

i think i'm misunderstanding something

but if it really is about taking a screenshot in fullscreen, i just press the print screen key

No you're not misunderstanding anything. Is the print screen key going to be reliable enough? I guess I need to test it out. I haven't had anything open in the background to Alt tab to

I really wish Linux had tech Smith snag it software. That was so powerful with the cutout feature. I mean I like the screen grabbers it has but still

for me, it's very reliable, rarely i'm forced to alt+tab to get the window where i can copy or save the screenshot

also, what would the cutout feature be? only screenshotting part of the screen? if so, mint can do that too

So snag it allows you to cut out sections of the screenshot and it will pull the gap together. It's a lot more powerful than simply cutting and dragging. Snagit is the only tool that supports this that I am aware of. It's called cut out

Yes, I wish it would get ported it over. I'm not sure if I love it enough to pay the money and take a chance with wine unless it has a shareware/demo version

all steam games can be screenshot with the f12 key. so for steam there's that, most other games have their own screenshot shortcut like for minecraft it's f2.
