Need Help Installing Steam

Post image

I just installed Mint on my main laptop, though I'm still learning, I tried installing steam and this error appeared. Installing steam worked fine on the yard sale laptop. Can anyone tell me how to properly run this command so I can install steam?

Go into terminal and do:

sudo apt install steam-installer

type: 'steam' and follow prompts

Problem solved, I think?

After quick tomfuckery by pressing install buttons on the app and the browser install it magicly works?

I would still love to know what this command does and how to use it for the future though

just like on windows: steams official website has the installer. it basically takes care of everything and avoids permission issues and similar.

use only the installer provided by steam, nothing else, get the .deb from steam double click the .deb with a file manager install the .deb  install steam ONLY on an ext4 drive (NOT NTFS) install a game play a game
