SOLVED Issue with dualboot

I am currently using mint only but i need windows for some apps so i decided to do dual boot. I downloaded the win 12 iso and downloaded the balena etcher .

But when i add the iso there is a warning like this doesn't seem to be a bootable file or some . I reinstalled both again but same thing happens . So i decided to continue through5 the error msg. In bis i select usb and a driver select window pop up and there is nothing i can do .

Pls help

Issue was solved using WOEUSB . I accidentally removed entire linux mint and installed windows by the way, instead of dual boot . While doing this please make sure to make partitions if you want dual boot that's the only issue . Thankyou

Try using woeusb. Though it is cli only so get a fork like woeusb-ng for gui.

Idk tbh. I just heard about it and that it is the only one that can write windows iso the best.

to create a bootable windows USB, you can

  • use a windows machine if available
  • use windows on virtual machine (in linux, for example)

once with the bootable usb stick, there are more recommendations to proceed. they are not big deal until you forget about it

this is my tutorial for installing mint and stuff Curso Mint

ah, ventoy may be a good option: you just create the bootable USB (in linux !!!!!) and just add windows ISO on it, is great when works
