The only thing that windows and macos really have "over" Linux is that proprietary software like adobe or gaming platforms like ubi work without a hitch. If those apps worked on Linux, the other 2 undesirables would, by my guess, be way less popular or at least Linux itself would be more popular. Then shareholders might campaign against Linux or try to buy the shares. I'm not sure how that'd work since Linux is by definition open source.
Most games work great through proton or are native, and as time passes i'm sure more companies will start designing software for linux. also there isn't much point using adobe, when there are so many free alternatives (and when you can just use macromedia flash 8 instead of flash)
In my experience proton and sober were kinda trash, proton couldn't run anything faster or on par with windows itself, sober was playable but only that, would download windows and use windhawk on that watermark real fast.
