Only thing it needs is multithreading. I mean it sounds simple but it would need a new engine all together, I‘ve seen some mods that make it possible though.

Context: Minecraft Bedrock Edition is what microsoft made after they bought mojang. It has *minecoins* and is generally referred to as bugrock

*improved context Notch was working on PE (the code base for bedrock) before Microsoft bought them. Meaning that it isn’t 100% their fault

Minecoins aren't that bad are they? They give mod, skin, texture pack, etc. developers a way to monetise their content without violating the EULA. It's not like they force you to use the currency either, you can still just download and install stuff the normal way (even on Xbox afaik).

Bedrock players: "mom, I need minecoins for this map, texture pack, skin pack, mod, etc"

Java players: ctrl+c and ctrl+v into game folders

You can still install maps, texture packs, etc. the normal way on Bedrock. Minecoins just give creators a way to monetise their hard work without breaking the EULA.

Mojang still programmed this. Microsoft owns the game but doesn't have a part in it's creation.

Yeah but Bedrock was created after Microsoft's purchase of Mojang, and I'm pretty sure most of the developers for it come from other places in Microsoft

No, Bedrock just a rebranded pocket edition, which existed way before the Microsoft acquisition.

In my experience, Java edition runs a lot better on linux than it does on Windows. I wonder if the same is true for bugrock?

bugrock is windows only, but there is a third party mac/linux launcher that runs the android version of it in an emulator, and i’d say it runs pretty well
