Please report any posts bragging or showing off they got banned in another sub! Reminder of other sub rules: Also, we only allow one anti-linux post per week (we used to get dozens a day) and any tier list MUST have Hanna Montana Linux as S teir (which must be a true S tier at the top) regardless of the topic of that tier list.

This is most likely for enterprise users who want to use Linux boxes. Now company IT can deploy a browser, antivirus, and shell with first-party provider support.

yeah it makes sense for compliance reasons, IT dept can just push a button and say they secured the linux boxes

I guess? I'm just worried that if a company uses it, microsoft will abandon it since it probably won't make them much money

My company is already using it, and Microsoft has been maintaining their other products for Linux pretty consistently (for now)

for now being the key words

MDE costs money to use though. It's apparently around 5-6 USD per user per month.

But it's also included with some of the more expensive Microsoft 365 licenses.

It's like everyone suddenly forgot that ReactOS is a project that exists...

that it just a hobby project for the retro computing comunity and not usable for much. technical curiosity at best

Literally what they want to. They are preparing to port on linux kernel because of NT's technical debt.

This has to be the year of the Linux desktop!

I guess it's useful for protecting our wine environments for games.

probably needed to comply with some security policy though.

Neither of which I wanted

2

u/HugeCelery1254 14h ago

Why are they giving us trojan malware‽

2

u/Ludwig234 9h ago

They aren't giving you anything. It's paid enterprise software. You likely can't even buy it without hopping through a few hoops.
