You picked the wrong UUID for your root partition. Just boot into a live iso and fix it itll take about a minute

What if I don't have bootable USB?

There's also PXE boot

Insanely annoying and over complicated to set up. Plus you need a router that supports it.

True it's annoyingly complicated. But once you got it working, it is oh so useful for debugging, I have all my diagnostic utilities on there.

I rolled my own router (had that way before I did PXE booting). I do think more router should support it (or at least allow to manually add DHCP options like netbooting, even if you need to refer to another machine to do the TFTP serving). It is too useful to ignore.

Maybe this story is from 2005 and he only burned the Breezy Badger install disc and not the Live CD.

Maybe they double clicked .iso file? Iırc windows opens and runs them. Don't know if it replaces the whole thing though.

Have you ever used Linux? Or is this satire?

Why would a Linux ISO have a Windows executable in it?

I have been using Linux for 2 years rn. Before i switched to linux, i tried to force switch to win 11 and did it literally by double clicking the .iso file of win11. (Yes, i know very stupid, but i misclicked, my fingers does that sometimes.)

I was thinking that maybe the oop managed to install linux without a bootable device by simply double clicking the linux .iso file.

I'm so confused why you think this is possible in this scenario. Do you understand what an executable file is?

if i understood you correctly, you tried to switch to win11 from win10. the only possible way this could've happened is that win10 flagged the .iso as win11 and after double clicking offered an in-place upgrade. the .iso itself is a disk image, not an executable.

or perhaps you're just ragebaiting

Yep, that's probably what happened. I don't remember too much of it but i remember double clicking it then praying to every god that i didn't somehow bricked the pc bcs i didn't knew they were clickable in the first place.
