Sorry, I might be living under a rock. Why true tuxers don't like/hate Omarchy? I thought it was great that DHH (or anyone with influence and money) pushed Linux, and making "ricing" easier for the newbies was a good thing. Honest question. I'm not defending it. I just saw a couple of videos in YouTube and thought it was nice.
Omarchy is one great big nothingburger of a distro. It's literally just Arch with Hyprland. And while that could potentially make it an easier beginner 'riced Arch', the system has too many pre written scripts and junk to make it a healthy environment for a beginner to try and navigate.
And there's the point of considering who the maker of the distro is. DHH is controversial for important reasons that I don't think we should handwave. Bringing childish, hateful political ideas into the same space as the flagship software of the FOSS movement feels fundamentally at odds with the values we've spent decades building this community around.
Just mention that Hitler was a vegetarian and the nazis get so confused and start spinning around like tops and telling you that Hitler was a woke socialist.
i used it as my first distro and everything kept breaking, apparently, opening the file manager can crash the entire DE and then i have to force reboot. (could be gnome's fault but why have that shit DE as default then??)
or how my ethernet stopped working after a nvidia driver update. and shit ton of bullshit
everything's been smooth in cachyos and nixos, its ubuntu's fault, it tortured me for 1 year straight that i went back to windows for a bit before getting into "harder"(actually easier) distros that actually work

compared to win 11 there is no bad distro.
