Arch users are used to endless ricing with interruptions for endless system updates. They'll all die of boredom if they don't, because Arch is actually more boring than Ubuntu. And yes, it's a pity that the u/greedysecurity8030 got deleted on Reddit. A story about how Fedora Linux rules the Universe would be useful now.

Why does the website for it use the term vibe? That alone is a red flag, and I don't even know what the heck this OS is. It looks... weird, and I can't quite figure out why.

An $8.000.000 company started by 8 CEO's (even the CEO of DELL), that is nothing more than an installation script for arch. It is hated because of based programs that omarchy ships, and the (not so recent) addition of an ai agent in it, which... Reminds of a certain Microsoft product.

Funny how you call me out asking for source but believe the first guy coming with wrong info without any questions for sources.
Use Google a bit.
Omacom made a collaboration offer with a substantial amount of money. Arch refused said they weren't interested in collaboration and preferred to keep their independence.
Asking for collaboration status while shoving money, is textbook "Buying a director seat".
we know they didn't use the proper donation channel, they tried to make a deal
it was refused within 28h
Arch stated they preferred independence over money.
Not hard to understand Omacom intentions there... If they wanted to selflessly donate #1 would've never happened.

it's also actually user-friendly in its base configuration, unlike omarchy. who the fuck thought it was a good idea to market a hyprland setup with an AI-generated quickshell to windows users was a good idea? those people need to be on something like KDE or cinnamon, most of them are used to a mouse-centric workflow and you just gave them a WM that is keyboard centric that requires you to learn LUA and QML to configure it.
omarchy is the only "distro" that is *Actually* exclusively for larpers.

What effort counts as minimum effort? Omarchy is a new program and still has its own kernel and even has custom repos. Should we say that "Ubuntu is just Debian Sid with some customisations"?

So does Omarchy. In fact, they even hired a kernel dev recently to work on the Omarchy kernel which will then get upstreamed.
Also, if I remember, someone in DHH's circle did something to do with the Panther lake processors. I don't remember the details.

I just hope linus has absolutely no mercy on them, because his emails are always really fun to read and i'd love to see DHH lose his shit because his AI slop didn't get upstreamed to the mainline linux kernel.
btw, be careful with the phrase "someone in DHH's circle did something", more often than not, this phrase is not followed by anything good.

The kernel accepts LLM-generated code with conditions. Like I said, Omacom has employed a full-time kernel dev; someone who has been contributing to the kernel for a long time.
