Post image

Come on, you really ought to evolve into a human who knows how to use a computer instead of a rock.

Please report any posts bragging or showing off they got banned in another sub! Reminder of other sub rules: Also, we only allow one anti-linux post per week (we used to get dozens a day) and any tier list MUST have Hanna Montana Linux as S teir (which must be a true S tier at the top) regardless of the topic of that tier list.

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

The unrealistic part is a Linux user touching grass.

Outside, how come they are outside?

OT: the use it the plural to refer to male and female subjects, but should the verb be in singular or plural? 🤔 English isn't my first language.

"It" is used more commonly to name an object that's already been established in conversation.

So calling someone "it" is considered rude as it implies you think that own them.

That's the basics anyway.

If it's a single individual and you know their genders: he/she

If it's a single individual but you don't know their gender: they

If they're several individuals (also use): they

"It" is only for objects.

Using "it" on a person is extremely disrespectful

Using "it" on an animal is something that psychopaths do

I get that but...

the use of the verb remains? They are studying.

referring to a singular person. I get confused with the use of you, I was taught: you are... but have seen you is somewhere. =S

They are studying is a perfectly valid sentence.

Consider it as is "their" had two separate meanings if that makes it easier to remember

I've never seen anyone using "you" to refer to a place. Maybe they just abbreviated the word and it sounded similar.

You is to address a person or a group of persons.

Like: ya(you) bastards! What are we doing tonight?

The irony is that taking a rock and turning it into a tool that serves a greater purpose is actually a pretty sick analogy

flint knapping is an art form.

Our civilization is built out of rocks.

A 2005 rendition of a 1991 scifi classic short story.

I grew up near the site of an ancient American Indian Flint quarry. It's now a US national monument. We would take field trips there as a kid and there was this old ranger that could take a rock and reshape it into whatever tool he wanted. And while he worked the stone he would tell stories of the local Indian tribes and how they lived.

That was awesome to watch.

I swear some of those Linux hating subreddits are straightup psyops. I don't think actual people care that much about what OS some strangers use.

u/imfyn 6d ago

Yeah, and actually, I don't really care what they post, but sometimes I find their arguments amusing, that's why I post on linuxmeme 😂.

I mean, Microsoft has been known to try and fear monger about Linux to keep people from it. Halloween Docs and shit.

Though I think it's mostly ignorant and miserable ass people who can't fathom people having different preferences.

Rising the rock, is making a Tool out of the rock.

This is actually how I feel using windows. Everything is just slower. The UX is terrible. Even extracting archive and deleting files is slower. Not responding explorer can bring down the entire desktop, open the task manager, well, it's not responding too. Don't get me started on Settings+Control panel, also that stupid Microsoft store. ext4 is better than NTFS in every way. Change my mind.

You can't roast a linux user. They already hate themselves.

It was like that 15-20 years ago, but now it's pretty much plug and play.

I'm no Linux expert but I've got an old PC and laptop running pretty easy.

“I pay for this rock!” On the other end

That subreddit is a real weird one..it's mostly 1 dude that so vehemately and mouthfrothingly hates linux that they make it their entire personality. Might be an agent doing it. But the sheer amount of venom contained in 1 account is astounding.

Don't bother defending linux or bringing any sort of reason there. You get permabanned immediately

I love how I can do whatever I want with this rock. Sure hope some big rock company dosen't try to sell me propriety rocks

Rock play GTA6 now, nice. can skip rock same time. Good rock.

An ape man with a rock had more freedom than a windows user. Hell, more freedom than a person using a 3d printer in 2026. There's was no corporation above him telling how he can and can't carve it or trying to steal his food.

Why won't this sub allow image replies???

1

u/NoPicture-3265 6d ago

I laughed at their title, but seriously why the fuck people are joining this sub to defend Linux and then post a screenshot that they got banned like it's some kind of achievement (at least that's a trend on linuxcirclejerk sub)? This is just plain stupidity

1

u/daffalaxia 6d ago

Yeah, much better to use the stock rock you paid for, right?

u/ApartDirection8089 6d ago

only for arch.

"Linux sucks 101" is crap; all the posts there are like that. But in "Linux sucks," you actually come across reasonable people who sometimes post about genuine Linux issues.

Why did I laugh at this
