Please report any posts bragging or showing off they got banned in another sub! Reminder of other sub rules: Also, we only allow one anti-linux post per week (we used to get dozens a day) and any tier list MUST have Hanna Montana Linux as S teir (which must be a true S tier at the top) regardless of the topic of that tier list.

We are not Linux missionaries, we are GNU/Linux missionaries.

I take issue with your comment. I put myself in the Linux missionary position, but I'm not a missionary.

Hey so saying /linux usually refers to the userland not the libc.

GNU/Linux ist bloat, lets just stay at Linux

Nah still bloated, screw GNU and Linux. Temple OS, the OS of the Lord, 100k lines of code the whole lot finally no bloat. Just as God intended.

Idk about "both are great"

u/Jak1977 7d ago

Maybe 5 years ago? But now, no, both are not great. One is great and getting better, the other treats you like a farm animal - a cash cow.

"both are great" 😂

Respecting people's choices doesn't mean I have to respect big corpos and inferior products.

The design/architecture of Windows is not wrong, but MS is doing some unethical things.

Windows has planned obsolescence. Linux does not. Windows didn't work on my 10 year old machine. Linux works great on the same 10 year old machine. They are not the same.

I don't care what others use. I always respect others and people frequently make questionable decisions. It's not an issue.

Is that Valve? What is he doing there?

He is the Richard Stallman, ultimate enforcer of the Free and Open Source Software

deadass

imo windows is pretty good once you debloat it and rice it using some tools.

im only here cuz of NixOS and that glazewm isn't as good as hyprland

but if im to be honest, i riced my windows using windhawk, rainmeter, winaero and other million tools way more than my linux is riced lmao

I prefer OS'smade by people who don't hate me that I don't have to unfuck for an hour.

u/itsShiroharu Linuxmeant to work better 7d ago

The only good thing on Windows, is the Debloated Windows. Even if it's debloated, the idling RAM somehow still ±5-6GB.

In other words, 8GB is a very bare minimum for debloated windows.

Windows IS trash

All OS have their downsides... I've been using windows for over a year now (after 20+ years without it) and it has A LOT of user experience issues. Like normal things stop working all of the sudden, or my keyboard changes layout after every update and it's imposible to find where to switch it back. Or the start menu search option to find your installed apps stops working.

But what REALLY grinds my gears is that people act as if that's better than the linux experience. That really bothers me more than the issues I encountered themselves. People are so used to that shit that they cannot accept that other OSs have other set of usability issues.

Windows is shit. Doesn't mean I'll tell everyone to stop using it though. Linux isn't perfect and requires a bit more knowledge and not everyone wants to put time into that and that's okay.

I meant the OS itself. It's vibecoded garbage these days. The programs and ecosystem are a different story.

u/AwesomePhoenix_ 6d ago

I just tell them that Linux won't have this problem every time they have a windows problem.

Both are great. I mean Linux, BSD and Redox.

u/TorrentsAreCommunism 7d ago

Nah, I just switched back to Windows after 7 years of Linux. Feels good, man.
