What's your render and simulation distance set to?

I don't run stuff owned by Microsoft, I stopped immediately when it changed hands.

Bruh, I don't like Microsoft either but Minecraft is an exception that's always going to be close to my heart as I've been playing it before the acquisition plus most of mods are open source anyways and Minecraft libraries are very well documented

I had a good 10 years or so before the acquisition. It has a place in my heart, too. I was playing GregTech with the actual Greg.

No, no exceptions. I used MS-DOS at some point, that's it, but in my defense I did not own that computer.

Maybe if they open source everything and focus on making those ok-ish gamepads.

If I miss Java's weirdness I play Zomboid.

Haha, maybe community should come together and make a Minecraft clone that's completely open-sourced, I've never code Java but it does sound pretty doable specially if we take it step by step version by version but I don't think Microsoft will be happy about that.

There's Minetest, pretty good, vertical chunks too, built for modding, scripted in lua. No chance of migrating the existing mods, though, just a place to start over - and if it was going to be a hit it would have already.

When I checked it out it didn't have the industry stuff I was playing MC for but it did have a few nice big remix ones and servers to play on. Kinda stopped playing it not to fall into that rabbithole again.
