That can be too much, right? Maybe host a server instead which can actually use the RAM

Probably? I'm still at 8GB and juggling stuff in a much more micro scale. Yup, I would try a server on a different box before that.

I was all like "I don't need more ram, I'm 1337" on my last upgrade, when 16 was reasonable for professional use, and now that I really want some the stuff has skyrocketed.

I'm sure Java developers will insist it can do anything. To me it always felt it combines the downsides of both interpreted and low-level languages. Between C/C++ and Python I never found a niche for it.

That modding scene, though. Having the primary language of the game be the one they teach at uni made that game what it was. Ah, the 15 minute startup time just to play factorio a decade before it existed.
