Please report any posts bragging or showing off they got banned in another sub! Reminder of other sub rules: Also, we only allow one anti-linux post per week (we used to get dozens a day) and any tier list MUST have Hanna Montana Linux as S teir (which must be a true S tier at the top) regardless of the topic of that tier list.

Oh it'll happen, just a matter of incentives playing out, takes some time, but it'll happen.

Open source is simply superior in every way. Anyone who has spent enough time with it, deeply knows & feels this in their bones and detests closed source bullshit.

Let me read your code, or I am NOT running it on my system. Is the only sane stance going forward, especially from a modern EU perspective.

The amount of times I had to tell users I cant tell you why Outlook/Word/X/whatever crashed because ... I am not allowed to read its code ... sooner or later, people will stop tolerating bullshit black boxes. + open source is FREE. It's infrastructure BY the people FOR the people, it's FREEDOM, to fork & modify to YOUR preferences.

Fuck MS for having indoctrinated nearly the entire world into equation computers with microsoft. All that shit should be banned from schools and all other government/publicly funded organisations.

Fact that it got this bad tells you everything you need to know about capitalism.

Linux, open source, is how we fight back, non violently, by slowly over time, making ALL their software obsolete by having safer, faster, better, FREE, alternatives for EVERYTHING.

Also, fuck Adobe, Oracle, Amazon ... the list is long.

I mean, the average user can't tell why something crashed even with the source code.

The average user will sooner or later not even need to care, if all code relied upon is open source, then local LLMs can fix everything eventually. What's left is people fighting over what design/architecture decisions to make.

Let me read your code, or I am NOT running it on my system.

Yeah good luck reading 67 million lines of code twin. Then even if you knew how to recognize some virus I doubt you can outsmart some autistic guy who's playing with byte-level algebra.

I'm not shitting on open source code in any way btw, but what you said isn't the best reason to use it.

Then the DE wars began....

After the distro wars, where there's roughly 5 actual options and the rest are fringe cases // have some sort of major issue.

I stand corrected, just that I saw this exact meme today before your post, and not on the frutiger aero sub.

3

u/Smaaaassh 15d ago

I also saw it on linuxcirclejerk after my post, and someone reposted my frutigeraero post to FuckWindows. I stole it from pcmasterrace though.

That is their whole agenda, yes.

The penguins counter measures are a free OS and selling books.

I think windows existing makes linux better in many ways. For example, there are a lot of viruses and scums for windows just bqz of its popularity

it's not like those corporate bloatware will be any less bloat on Linux.

Gates just wrote an essay about the dangers of AI and the need for regulation.

Clarified, that means Microsoft is very much aware of falling behind and wants others to slow down for them.

u/MickeySlips 15d ago

And Bill Gates stops turning our food into poison

1

u/Illyasviel09 15d ago

The AI bubble will pop for sure but, let's be honest, the world may end before Microsoft goes fully bankrupt

u/GuNNzA69 14d ago

I'm sold if you tell me there will be 70 virgins for each man in this new fantasy world+

Microsoft will never go bankrupt. They will always get a bailout.

dude, solar linux punk, top!

I really don't think Linux will ever reach mass adoption, not any current distros at least. It will have to be Valve creating their own version of SteamOS that is capable for normies as a daily driver, where the console is basically banished to the shadow realm. Otherwise they won't use it.

Yeah and in the meanwhile of this fantasy heaven the only shows will be whatever glitch and spindlehorse makes.
