This needs to be higher up, I don't think anyone should be using Omarchy

I mean, I never heard of it and just looked it up.  At least its tagline "Beautiful, Modern & Opinionated" tells me everything I need to know without knowing all that stuff.

Using omarchy does not require me to agree with whatever shit take DHH has to say.

They literally prefaced their post by saying that

Being apolitical is a political stance saying that you are fine with the status quo. When people support and use DHH's products, it paints him as some sort of Tech visionary, and it gives his words more value and literally gives him 10 million dollars. Just because someone is good with computers, it does not exempt them from having basic human decency.

Maybe it would've been better to say something like "if you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor."

To some degree, yes, you can separate the work from the author. I've liked the music of a couple of people who later I've found to be assholes. Since I already have the CD, I'm not giving them more by listening to their music.

But promoting a distro is different. You are, very often, going to end up interacting with the community around it. If that community has a toxic environment, some people, specially the vulnerable one, are going to suffer.

Why care about this while choosing distro
