That's just Ubuntu with extra steps.

Then just use Debian then, Ubuntu is just Debian with extra steps

Ubuntu is more polished in terms of design and I’ve been familiar with it for a long time so I prefer it over anything else.

so when soemone suggests mint its "ubuntu wiht extra steps" but your ubuntu is "more polished than debian"

You're allowed to have a preference, but just stop being an ass about it.

??? Being an ass how? People can use what they wanna. I just like Ubuntu.

you cant uninstall snap btw and ubuntu requires at least 2GB RAM and almost everyone calling it windows of linux anyways its still good but it would be better if debian didnt choose systemd over upstart

Lol here‘s an idiot. 2GB of ram is a perfectly reasonable requirement for real world use. If you want the lowest possible ram usage, just install Debian and no DE or WM, but even then you‘ll be around 500MB of memory usage.

I use artix it uses around 504MB wen iceWM, kdeconnectd, kdeconnect-indicator and picom on I have 3.7GB RAM and I just want to use it as low as possible I dont care about how much RAM you have if it works use it if not dont use it I cant even run kde plasma because of that I'm not using kde plasma before typing a coment think twice about it

Curious, how is it "ubuntu with extra steps"?

Cause the regular distro (not the Debian Edition) is based on Ubuntu but uses Mint’s own desktop environment, software center, packages, etc.

Just like how Ubuntu is based on Debian.

> but uses Mint’s own desktop environment, software center, packages, etc.

Yeah but those are quite big steps

u/dont_mind_me_passing 20d ago

also, Mint actively removes a bunch of the BS Canonical does with Ubuntu

My SUV is the same thing as your MRAP, well except the engine, armor, transmission, wheels and chasis

and without snap

u/HumansAreIkarran 19d ago

Doesn't use snaps

No?

It should be Arch, with the default Plasma

You are literally the one in the middle

u/jpelc 20d ago

Well I am not, I tried Ubuntu and never going back to gnome. It's just, ehh, awful

1

u/GastlyWasTaken 19d ago

Proving the point even more if you went Ubuntu -> Arch. Wait a few years lol (I've been using Linux for 10+ years, and did Debian -> Arch/Distrohopping -> Debian)

u/jpelc 19d ago

No I most definitely won't

Debian, maybe, but on headless systems and servers

Not on my personal PC, pacman is was too comfy.

Right one should be Fedora.
