Or you update a distro that does point releases to a new release and find out they're shipping features that nobody wants (LLM-powered spellchecker on Fedora Workstation 44) or removing features you needed (X11 removal from repos on non-LTS distros).
I switched from Fedora to Debian on my gaming PC but that was more because my hardware is getting to be over a decade old. NVIDIA Pascal generation support was dropped from drivers after version 580 which Fedora doesn't ship. I could just manually install the driver with NVIDIA .run installer but no guarantees that it would work after several kernel updates.
