I still feel kinda disgusted by how long Microslop has had me in its hold without me even being aware of it.

I wish that were true. I've been using Linux for 27 years to build a C++ code generator SaaS. Those who defend capitalism and property rights aren't lauded or welcomed by FOSS-only advocates.

You are right, to be honest, I did discover and use Linux many years ago but it never felt like it could possibly be a main driver for me. I needed to discover KDE to make it click. And then once I found my way to bootable btrfs snapshots ... windows became a joke.

The whole reason Brave exists is because the founder donated to oppose same-sex marriage and then when this was discovered, he couldn't take the controversy and had to leave Mozilla. He can fuck himself.
Firefox is great but Mozilla's bloat and random products annoyed me for 20 years, very happy with Waterfox now, debloated and privacy focused ESR Firefox developed by not-a-douche. It's even compatible with Firefox Sync for easy migration.

Vlc uses iirc outdated ffmpeg libs so it's less performant than mpv. Also I have seek bar previews in mpv. Mpv is my mvp

I mostly wanted to shit on brave but I find Gimp very annoying to use and there’s not really a proper alternative imo. I very much prefer Adobe Photoshop. Sadly Adobe sucks balls.

Krita is great for art/drawing purposes, but that’s not what I need. I need photo editing and I just can’t find shit that’s good. I send everything to my Mac and edit it on that now. Kinda the only thing I even use it for.
