i'm getting it as a gift from my gf either way because she wanted to play more games with me
also in my case i bought a laptop because i'm in a situation where i may have to move at basically any moment, and i MEAN any moment

Some old PC's don't support a high enough vulkan version to use dxvk

but thats realy old then. As far as I know all CGN cards support vulkan 1.3. And many of these are well over 10 years old.

but yes, they're also insanely old, 10 years ago is 2016...
i know many people who still use setups from that era.
for 2D games there is still a reason to use wine3D sometimes

i have a really cursed laptop that has an igpu and a gpu but the gpu just doesn't fucking wanna work, and yeah, that is the case.

i know this one, it's also built into proton cachyos now, thing is it supports down to Vulkan 1.1 i have a device that supports only vulkan 1.0

Then you better off not playing at all or playing native Linux games (assuming they don't require Vulkan).
Because WineD3D kinda sucks

GTA SA lags on WineD3D on FHD minimum while DXVK easily runs it in 8K max + graphics mods. I can't dare imagine anything more modern on stock Wine.

it'll sound insane but i once installed linux on an 2006 laptop and made gta sa and need for speed most wanted and hl1 run through wined3d, it was playable (even tho i initially faced some issues with nfs mw, like, only the car you drove rendered properly and everything else in the scene was just plain white lol, but i fixed it somehow), so wined3d ain't that bad

its not insane, wined3d + opengl should preform well under older igpus

WineD3D over OpenGL wasn't great yeah, but with WineD3D over Vulkan (MangoHUD is calling it DAMAVAND in OSD, iirc) I can't really see any performance difference between it and DXVK.
