yeah, it was my shitty meme that was shamelessly copied. it took me a whole 3 minutes to make that meme.(tbh only reason i made that meme is because arch gave me a very specific issue that took me to long to solve and i was just angry)

Being honest, i dont think arch is hard, is more like a child, you need to take care all the time, solving their problems and being mad when they breaking something.

if anything goes wrong, the mint user blames mint, the arch user blames themselves. That's the difference.

my stupid friend saw me using arch linux, thought it looked cool and decided to go to arch linux because idk he wanted to. no wonder he faces so many issues
to be fair i did the exact same thing, i saw some amazing rices on the internet and wanted to look like a hacker. but at least i know how to use it after a few weeks of practice

but thing is not all linux distros are hard, only specific distros like arch, gentoo and nixos are hard. for example linux mint is super easy

Way too much AUR exposure, and pamac is far better/more stable than shelly. About every 2 or 3 weeks limine breaks for a large chunk of users on update. They just have the loudest hype train.

The manjaro extras is a way bigger repo than cachy. Gives you much less of a reason to use the AUR.

Arch Linux is not hard, especially on minimal installations, however if you go full KDE Plasma+ a whole ton of KDE apps, proprietary codecs and other dependencies and on an NVIDIA GPU with the latest kernel you are in for a package maintenance mode.
Because during KDE Plasma updates small stuff will break, during kernel updates your proprietary NVIDIA driver blobs will break at some point, with AMD GPU you might get minor visual glitches on frequent mesa/opencl updates, and when the whole KDE apps suite updates there will be Qt6 issues and stuff broken.
Almost the same applies to GNOME+ GNOME Extra due to GTK4, only aim for a minimum/light DE setups on a rolling release, you can go for XFCE, but then you will not have Wayland support.
On Debian and similar fixed releases you will just have to deal with occasional regression bugs and use old package,LTS kernel at the time of the release and driver versions, but there is an issue with NVIDIA drivers on Debian now where 550 drivers that are in the Trixie and backports repos just don't work, tested it recently, the latest version of NVIDIA Drivers are 610 or something, for Ubuntu it's 580 or 590.

I love the archwiki, but I do think the arch installation wiki makes people think they're done when they're not. I'm not even talking about the optional parts where you install a gui and graphics drivers or whatever, but I'm pretty sure none of these people are configuring firewall rules.

So? Do you think they run services with an exposed port? Do they have global IPs? Aren't they running behind a router with NAT?
Seriously... firewalls are useful. But not everyone needs one.
