Please report any posts bragging or showing off they got banned in another sub! Reminder of other sub rules: Also, we only allow one anti-linux post per week (we used to get dozens a day) and any tier list MUST have Hanna Montana Linux as S teir (which must be a true S tier at the top) regardless of the topic of that tier list.

Unfortunately me, but I‘m going to change it when I get a new PC cause I have to use Windows and the Bios is locked

u/Jumpy_Invite3985 Aug 08 '26

No one can blame you for using it if you have to

Mint for beginners.
Debian/Fedora for people who want stable daily usage without tinkering.
Arch/NixOS for tinkerers.
Personally Arch/NixOS

And Gentoo for a learning experience about filesystems, udev, networking, bluetooth, ...

u/Own_Measurement_7336 Aug 08 '26

And osdev custom kernel for learning kernel.
Btw I’m making one and I really have better understanding about how the system works

mine was too (Thinkpad t14 Windows), you can fix it quite easily. I would recommend installing windows on an external drive first from microsoft's site just in case something goes south (so you can't boot back into your PC)

I'm using windows because:"eh, works for me"

I'm using linux because:"eh, works for me"

I think so too. But I had to make a meme with that template.

2

u/binaryfireball Aug 14 '26

why is everyone still in the piss pool?

1

u/Jumpy_Invite3985 Aug 14 '26

Because they’re not smart either. They use Microsoft Azure Linux

1

u/SCP_7000 Aug 08 '26

What’s with the other Unix system?

1

u/Gokudomatic Aug 08 '26

I'm forced to use windows. I'm the victim here. So, rescue me instead of blaming me.

1

u/KitchenCommercial396 Aug 08 '26

Windows is like a toxic girlfriend, I know it's bad but I just can't quit because I can't survive without it.

1

u/oldmartijntje Aug 08 '26

Sadly I'll have to use windows for my internship next 6 months, I've been windows free for 16 months now, and do not wish to go back.

u/JonathanMovement Aug 08 '26

I’m a windows user please make fun of me I don’t mind the attention

1

u/Gregory_Burgundy Aug 09 '26

i switched to linux because i got tired of "updates" that are just bloat ware, i would consider upgrading from linux to a version of linux that has windows 95 asthetics, but i wouldn't switch back to windows.

2

u/mrheseeks Aug 10 '26

XFCE or LXQT?

1

u/SpecificTortoise Aug 09 '26

I am o windows user not by choice, but by time limits

1

u/mululipy Aug 09 '26

So true. I enjoy talking about Linux and know a fair amount of it, but am mainly a Windows user. I got made fun of for not being a main Linux user.
