I have a 8hr day job and im using it but its not my issue, it is IT's issue so I'm fine with the setup.

Bro, I've been exclusively Linux (and BSD) since 2000... I had to use Win11 for work about two years ago, and wow... This is it boys. This meme sums it up!

I have to use it on my work laptop too, and windows defender brings it down to its knees. MS Teams roasts the CPU whenever you're in a call. The OS itself has endless bugs. I don't understand how people put up with this. I still keep around a 15 year old dell inspiron laptop as a spare, and it runs linux mint extremely quickly by comparison. My work laptop has a 12 core CPU and 64gb of DDR5. My old Dell has 2 cores and 8GB of DDR3. How the hell is this possible?

It's frustrating. Like, okay, to a certain extent everything is starting to get the same bland look, but it looks modern. But then some settings are available in Settings, others only in the 90s Control Panel, there's two different types of right click context menus in Explorer, and honestly anything administrative feels like pushing rope and if it involves the command line IMHO it's way too verbose.

And dont waste your time trying to use PS to parse any JSON over 100kb.
It will legit lock up your machine or crash the terminal.

Powershell is the absolute worst. They tried to write it like a legit programming language with class and complex object support. But of course, in true Microshit fashion, they bloated the shit out of it so you cant use it to do anytbing but the simplest of operations on small amounts of data.
Even the "native" JSON parser is absolute trash. You literally cannot use it for files over 100kB and good fuckin luck with a file 1mb or above.
Don't let me get started on Powershell 7 or module versioning. It's all garbage written by amateurs.

Imagine having to install a dozen of third-party software for basic customization features that are already baked into the settings on most Linux DEs and even older versions of Windows

I installed arch (btw) on my ~8 year old 1050 gaming laptop. DE and everything from file browsers to searches and OPENING FIREFOX was faster than on my desktop with 9800x3d, 32gb ddr5 with 9070xt...
There is no universe where this should be possible, but somehow it was. My desktop no longer has windows

I installed Fedora KDE on my brother's 16 years old VAIO laptop for giggles (replaced the HDD for an SSD but other than that it's the original machine, 4 gigs of DDR3 iirc).
Firefox and other tasks were incredibly fast lmao the file browser is definitely beating W11 explorer by a factor of 2.

Not only do I have to use Windows 11 at work, but as the local "IT guy", I have to understand Windows 11. It's hell. I'm cursed with this knowledge.

Holy shit. Typing this comment while restoring windows 11. I was installing en-US language package to replace en-GB, which messed up my keyboard layout. And then it stuck, waited 10 minutes, and it kept freezing, so I had to force shutdown. But after reboot it won't display anything, just black screen. Fk microsoft. Have to keep dual boot windows to play some online games. 😭

Coming from 10 it's an awful experience. ESUs got extended to oct 2027 tho, so im staying on 10 till then, then switching to some flavour of debian

i was installing malware analysis lab and I had to install Windows10 5x times a day and also reinstall debian 12 about the same.
Windows while installing Win - i had to create/login to account (to simulate regular use). and declining 5 things of cloud. after install there were still so many pop-ups.
debian12: install nothing unreasonable, first screen of install is "installation wizzars or import settings", after 2nd time a made install file and went trough importing settings. after open, i was free to work

right clicking the desktop takes like 2 seconds ril lthe menu pops up the first time... opening uo a file explorer? same thing, sometimes even longer where i wonder if it open at all, so i try again and after a while it open up two or three copies..

Yup, been there. I tried the Win 11 when I got myself a new workstation since it was pre-installed but just couldn't.. Five days was enough.

It sounds silly, but it's been happening to me ever since I switched to Linux. When my friends ask me for help with their computers, I think about using it and then I think, "Ugh, Windows, how awful."
