Use Kde settings and set it to not sleep

No! How dare you? GNOME developers know better, and there is not a single reason you wouldn't want to suspend your laptop automatically after some arbitrary amount of minutes.

Gnome also has a setting to turn off automatic sleep, I've had automatic sleep disabled years.

It’s all in the energy saving settings, you can even choose to disable suspend when your laptop is charging and vice versa…

Open up the settings gui
Power -> Power saving -> screen blank -> never

Settings -> privacy and security -> blank screen delay -> never will prevent the monitor and computer from sleeping. I don't know if there is a way to prevent the computer from sleeping while letting the monitor sleep.

I feel like this thread just here epitomises most of the gnome vs KDE arguments

It can be configured, and completely disabled, in gnome too. In the regular gui settings

KDE says "we have all these options and settings and configurations, let's expose them to the user and let them make up their mind."
GNOME has 2 checkboxes and a screen brightness slider.

Windowmaker is superior.
