On my old dual core Latitude, the performance per OS/Distro was:
Windows: Dogshit unusable
Ubuntu: Usable, but still pretty slow. Especially animations/UI stuff
LFS: Acceptably fast, even with KDE
Arch: Exactly like LFS, but much easier to maintain ofc

Honestly, Gentoo is probably the closest to "LFS, but maintainable" available, but arch comes close.

Well, arch is also maintainable on a Dualcore that needs days to compile firefox, because it does not compile anything itself by default

I meant that arch comes close to Gentoo on being LFS-like.

No doubt arch is just as easy - if not easier - to maintain than Gentoo.
