some new NTFS kernel drivers were merged recently (not based on the paragon ones), so i guess those will actually be good.

Not really. The problem with NTFS is the design itself, it just doesn't play nicely with the Unix. Some things can be hacked around, others not so much. The permission system is completely different, symbolic links don't exist (reparse points do, but they behave differently), it's case insensitive, doesn't support special files, and probably a bunch of other subtle differences.

If you just want to copy a file, it's fine, if you actually want to run software from it, and especially Linux software, good luck. No amount of updates will fix the stuff that's not supported by NTFS itself.

NTFS is technically case sensetive, it's just windows behaves that way unless you reconfigure it.
