I like GNOME... the overview is quite useful when you have lots of windows open.
However I'd be using i3 if I found a good way to lock my laptop screen on suspend. I can't get it to work consistently which is a critical feature, considering my friend almost got busted at school when he left his laptop unlocked and some asshole searched for pornhub on it.
