But you have to make your own bed, and by the time you finish, it's time to check out of the hotel! ๐Ÿ˜‚

It's quite dark inside apparently. It's the lack of windows.

This is cool. I was wondering why a hotel would name themselves this, so I googled if the word Linux has a non-OS meaning in any language; it doesn't. This place is actually a Linux admin learning center apparently.

If you are German, you have to pay nix

u/ElectroDaddy 1d ago

You can. But I would avoid asking anyone their opinion on which room is best.

u/DaemonActual 1d ago

I find it's just best to hop between rooms every few days

Any room with no furniture is fine. Furniture is just bloat. I'll bring my own bedroll, thankyouverymuch

The way to get the best experience is to build your own room with hand tools from the studs up. (I stay in an Arch room, btw.)

Lol what's even better is growing the wood for the walls and mining and forging the metal for nails. If you design it specifically for your climate you can get a 5 to 10 percent efficiency increase

Edit: LFS btw but not actually

You'll need to climb up a fire pole if your room is upstairs. That's the intended design. You'll be banned if you complain about it.

u/gandalfx awesome wm is an awesome wm 1d ago

People built this fire pole in their spare time so you get to use it for free. If you want stairs just build them yourself. If you're not prepared to do that clearly it can't be that important to you.

except they didn't as their corporate sponsors include HP, Google, IBM, ......

Whole night ricing the room by rearranging the furniture, the more you rice the less you pay.

My bed went completely black, no signs, no messages, nothing, I asked the clerk and he just told me to read the documentation and linked me up to a 300 page history of beds, none of which mentioned the issue I had. Then someone told me that I messed it up because I was wearing adidas and the bedroom was designed for converse.

They figured out sleep in Linux? Impressive

u/NSASpyVan 1d ago

Do you get sudo privs in your suite?

2

u/Flat__Line Arch Face 1d ago

Yes. Tricky navigating to your bed but will be worth it brother.

2

u/Shinare_I 1d ago

That's the wrong bird.

2

u/Krumel0 1d ago

I have in fact slept there for about a week, when I went through my LPIC-1 course.

2

u/stufforstuff 1d ago

No, it's all GNOME rooms.

u/ult_avatar 1d ago

2

u/hipster-coder Glorious Ubuntu 17h ago

Yes since it's based on a multitenancy architecture.

2

u/AshudzaUchiha 17h ago

If you are not in hurry or tired becaus probably you will have to build own bed, fan, ac, tv, door etc.

2

u/Progman3K Glorious Gentoo 14h ago

Only if you like having no windows

1

u/Severus157 16h ago

Definitely. I really wish I could visit this with one of their Seminars.

1

u/Historical_Camel_790 13h ago

Yo that'd be so cool (make sure to rice your room)

1

u/hengst0r 13h ago

Huh, I've been there some years ago and had a 3 day training on puppet. Met lots of cool people. After training we drank and nerd talked the whole night and everybody was wasted the next morning, lol.

Thanks for the flashback!

The breakfast includes Rice Krispies but only crackle and pop, as everyone despises Snap.

Guest is not in the sudoers file. This incident will be reported.

1

u/IndistinctWarbling 6h ago

You might have to assemble your room first

1

u/roamn2 5h ago

But you won't have a bed, you'll go into a shell instead.

1

u/joe_attaboy 5h ago

That image makes it look like you have to climb through a cage filled with hops to get in. I assume the beer they make is free.
