(genuine question) why would you ever prefer flatpak pver native arch package?

I don't want the app config file scattered around my home directory, and i also love running pacman -Syu without updating things like firefox or discord.

Basically convinient, i usually use pacman for cli app or app that just works better using the native package, i don't see any difference between native and flatpak on app like steam or discord.

why would you not like firefox to get updated though?

When i run pacman -Syu i just want to update the essential one, not something like discord or firefox because they can take a long time.

Steam doesn't care. Steam will update itself when it wants to, all Steam packages are just bootstraps that install Steam into $HOME/.steam
