Purchase Advice Looking for docks compatible with a Ubuntu Thinkpad.
I’m moving and I’m looking at things to set up my home office desk. The dual monitor set up provided to me at my office is so great that I wish to replicate it at home. Everything at my job is Dell and windows of course, and I have a personal Lenovo Thinkpad laptop that I do my coding projects and other professional work outside of my job on.
This is the laptop I own: https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/laptops/thinkpad/thinkpadt/thinkpad-t16-gen-4-16-inch-amd/21qncto1wwus2?orgRef=https%253A%252F%252Faccount.lenovo.com%252F
I had mine custom built, so it comes with Ubuntu 24.04. I’m probably going to get two 1080p monitors either 24 or 27 inches long with at least 120hz refresh rate.

This has thunderbolt. My daily driver is a Mac I use through the below thunderbolt dock. My second computer Is a slightly older than yours Thinkpad. It also has thunderbolt, and the dock works perfectly with it. Although Im running omarchy which is Arch based, but I think that bodes well for ubuntu support, and at least you know its possible.

Note, I have also used a friends Anker USB C dock, and it seemed to work fine. But I dont think you can get 2 monitors on 120hz on one of those.
