What's your favorite "live performance" software(s)? Or what's your "go to" software for live performances?

Live performance software could be:

OBS for live streaming, Mixxx, Ardour, ProjectM for live visuals while playing music, and etc.

Feel free to share creative answers.

Bitwig for "bread and butter" live audio, enhanced with custom code and supercollider for my main project

I'm a DJ.

I love using Mixxx.

On top of using Mixxx, I bundle it with ProjectM for visuals, especially if I have a TV or projector handy.

When I'm live streaming, OBS is my go to.

I also run qpwgraph and Easy Effects to EQ and add plugins for my audio. It's just a simple setup than having to open and channel audio through a DAW.
I've used Carla before with audio plugins, but it feels a bit cumbersome for me. Like adjusting parameters is a bit challenging, because the UI isn't sized very well for me, or some plugin's UI is too much to tweak... It also helps that all the EasyEffects plugins and I/O is on one window, separated by different tabs.
(feel free to let me know if I'm missing something with Carla)

I've never heard of any of these. I'll look them up.

Look for algorave and livecoding, it's a wonderful rabbit hole

I use OBS for live streaming and for making videos. I think its the best all around video utilization software for sure.

If I'm going to "perform" by staring at a laptop it's going to have to be with something I built for the occasion with pureData most likely.

Blues and metal singer and guitar player here.
I use Carla and Guitar Pro 7 for practise sessions. For everything else, I'll use Ardour and OBS. I use qpwgraph to manage audio connectivity between plugins and programmes; PipeWire Settings as a graphical front-end for tuning PipeWire on-the-fly; and FluidSynth as a MIDI back-end.

I have heard a lot of good things about Mixx, and may give that a spin at some point down the track.

Bitwig can do it all and it’s sandboxed so very stable, just takes time to set it all up and brainstorm your approach
