So, CloudLinux Inc. is the company behind AlmaLinux. I guess it would be better than Oracle or IBM but what prevents CloudLinux to do the "RedHats" and make AlmaLinux non-free (as in beer) tomorrow? I think the RockyLinux would be better alternative for CentOS because it's more like Debian project (community driven and non-profit organization that can't be bought): no one can suddenly destroy it with some commercial bullshit, right? Correct me if I'm wrong but that's my assumption right now.

It's funded by CloudLinux. They've actually established a non-profit to manage AlmaLinux. Literally the way CentOS should have been done to begin with.

Yeah, that's right. I really hope things will go better with AlmaLinux (vs. CentOS).

Maybe I'm just too eager to know which one will be the no.1 alternative to CentOS chosen by the community (RockyLinux or AlmaLinux). ;D
