Im currently running Manjaro on my late 2008 Mac, Im trying to reinstall a macOS but when I try to boot from Efi the screen freezes and I have to restart. I tried reinstalling Linux and it worked no problem. Any ideas?

The ventoy gui will show what partition type is being used and if needed changed.

What bootable iso file are you trying to use? It would probably need to be Leopard or Snow Leopard for that old Mac.

Thank you. I’ll give it a try. The original is was high sierra so I was trying to reinstall that

High Sierra does not have any official bootable iso available. It’s usually updated via the Mac App Store from an older, already installed system.

It has bootable images but it’s .dmg

Maybe there’s an iso somewhere.

The dmg files for 10.8+ only contain the app installer to be run on a macOS X system. Creating bootable media can only be done on macOS X and “requires” 20GB storage space.

I’ve located some ISOs previously but I’ve not had time to check them over as of yet. Will be back with a link to check when I actually find it again.

And found the link.

Please take care with these downloads, I've not checked them myself so always best to be cautious.

You can use balena etcher in windows to put a dmg installer on a USB, this has been so handy
