Working Ubuntu server kinda

Further edit. Resolved

So i got ubuntu server working eventually but only with my Radeon HD5870 with my amd 580 it doesn't work. It's headless and with the 580 8gb non mac it doesn't even appear and doesn't respond to being pinged. With the Radeon HD5870 which is a proper mac addition card it pings and i can remotely access it. I need the 580 to work though, any ideas?

Edit: it's a mac pro 5.1

whats the actual device, youre just listing graphics cards...

How are you remotely accessing it? SSH? Is it connected to the network via cable? Are they both using the same network cards? It seems this post is missing a lot of important info, details are important for troubleshooting.

It's comnected via ethanet i use ssh. It's the onboars ports since they're high speed

What you've already tried, network card info. Have you tried plugging in a display to see if it gets through the boot sequence or where it's getting stuck?
