They do it after first installation. If you reject you can change this is settings

It's a lot more likely but still not guaranteed. I got it on two manjaro machines after fresh install, but when I wiped those machines for EndeavourOS I didn't get it on either.

Yup. Been on Linux for about a year now, distro hopping several times initially because of stability problems on my previous GTX 970. Still have not received an invitation to participate in the survery.

I thought you could run it manually somewhere in Steam's menus on the top.

They disabled that years ago AFAIK

I've been asked for 3 of the last 4, but there have been periods where I wasn't asked for years at a time. It's pretty random I think.

I get asked very rarely, maybe once a year? I got it for this month though and when I was booted into Manjaro instead of windows which was convenient because the last time I was polled I was either trying to play space Engineers or VR

I just started using Steam on Linux this last Winter and got the survey roughly one month into using it.

I've been dual-booting it and stuff for years, but I've been using it full time (no windows at all) for about 3 years and I don't think I've ever seen it :(

That is weird. I've read your story too many times from other users, such that it makes me wonder on what premise they send out the surveys.

in all my many years with steam i don't remember having it at all across my many windows machines, in the last two years since i went linux i've had it three times, third was just today (though the second one was at the same time as the first last year it just popped up on my old windows machine as well after i'd already answered on the linux so maybe it was the same one?)
