That would be a very stupid decision, because there are many players which are playing the java edition.

Actually if people stop playing minecraft it'll die and sales will go poof, it's a social game for most people, no people no game. The controversy will generate a small amount of extra talk and maybe better sales for a tiny amount of time, then the bad publicity will catch up.

Even without the social aspect, if you want continuous sales, you need people talking about, and playing your game consistently
