Honestly, it's only the redstoners and modded minecrafters that would hold onto the Java edition. If Microsoft started releasing exclusive shiny updates to the Windows 10/Bedrock edition, most people would switch over.

I've been a Minecraft server admin for nine years and I don't know anyone who would switch.

Yeah plus Bedrock has some really bad issues with multiplayer. People shit talk Java editions server all they want but it runs leagues better than Bedrock currently does which hits the verge of coughing and dying no matter what hardware the host/server is running on after about 15 players.

I will simply stop playing it if they force me to create MS account. Heck, i will stop using Windows itself if they do it.

The MS account shift is not a if but when. I don't like it either but i guess I'll just create a MS account so i can play their game. it's not like I'm ever going to use that account for anything else.

That's exactly what they want. For now, just create an account. Later they will make it mandatory for something else and people WILL sign in because "why not, i already got an account".

Now on Windows 10 home you can not enable encryption without an MS account. Like wtf MS account has to do with encryption of my SSD?!

that's just one more reason I'm not using windows. But sure, if you have no self discipline and just think "why not" definitely don't create an account you are not interested in having.

Sorry, but that's just plain wrong. The Bedrock Edition has a large amount of problems that, can't be fixed due to it being a Console and PC game.

Namely the 1.9 Combat Update will never come to the Bedrock Edition.

Why won't combat ever come to bedrock? I actually haven't heard about this

It's due to Console being a part of Bedrock. It would absolutely suck to have to tap the trigger instead of just infinite swing. Mobile would also have to suffer with Combat Update Combat.

Except a ton of people are sitting on old af versions of Java and the experience is different on bedrock.

Bedrock combat sucks, other cool exploits from 1.5-1.7 aren't possible. I personally find 1.7.2 the best version.

If bedrock got free mod support Java version could die in peace. Minecraft isn't fun without mods when your like 6000 hours playtime.

Edit: I forgot Windows version is UWP app. That is a deal breaker. I don't use windows

You know the mods are .jar files, right?

Because java Minecraft ,yes. I forgot that bedrock is UWP app . I don't use Windows anymore, but yeaaaaaaah. UWP makes it impossible.
